What is self-exclusion?
If you need to take a break from gambling, we offer a number of options to help you control your betting, including self-exclusion.
Timeout allows you to take a short break from gaming, preventing your account from placing bets for 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, 72 hours or 30 days. During the selected time, it will not be possible to reverse this block. More information about "timeout" can be found here.
Alternatively, if you feel you need a longer break from gaming, you can choose to self-exclude:
Self-exclusion means that your Betfair account will remain closed for a minimum period of three months, six months, one year, three years or five years and will not be reactivated under any circumstances during the exclusion period (as opposed to a standard account closure request).
If you have any unmatched Exchange bets, these will be cancelled and the funds returned to your account balance. Any matched bets (or parts thereof) will remain valid. Please contact customer service to arrange for these funds to be returned to you.
To exclude yourself, select ‘My Account’ from the drop-down menu in the site title, ‘Account Details’, ‘Safer Betting Tools’ and the ‘Self-Exclusion’ option. You can also restrict your access to individual Betfair products.
Here, you have the option to set a self-exclusion for three months, six months, one year, three years or five years. Alternatively, customer service can set the self-exclusion for you.
Please contact us if you require further information or assistance regarding self-exclusion or individual product restrictions.
