Closing options
We offer several methods for closing your Betfair Account:
A. Standard closure
This type of account closure is designed for people who no longer wish to bet with Betfair. They may be unhappy with the service they have received or are taking a break from trading for a while. This closure method allows you to reopen your account at any time. Simply contact customer service.
B. Exclusions
As part of our commitment to safer gambling, Betfair offers options for customers who have a gambling problem. One of these options is to request a self-exclusion. If you undertake a self-exclusion, your balance will be transferred to your most recently used payment method. Your account cannot be reactivated until the exclusion period you have selected has ended and you will not receive any promotional or marketing material.
This option allows you to take a break during one of the following periods:
· 3 months
· 6 months
· 1 year
· 2 years
· 3 years
· 4 years
· 5 years
· Permanent
To reactivate your account once the exclusion period has ended, you will need to contact us.
If you feel that gambling has begun to negatively affect your life or is becoming a concern, the centralized self-exclusion system for betting sites is an important tool for you to regain control of the situation. This platform, developed by the Federal Government through the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF), allows you to block your access to all federally authorized betting sites for a minimum period of 1 (one) month, to prevent financial and health damage, providing an opportunity for reflection, seeking well-being, and taking care of your emotional and financial health.
How do I use the centralised self-exclusion service?
Log in using your Gov.br account (silver or gold), choose the timeframe (fixed or indefinite), and accept the system terms.

C. Short break
The Short Break option allows you to take a break for a period of 1 to 30 days. Pending bets and balance will remain in your account and the break will be automatically removed once the selected period is complete. To find out more, click here.
D. Deletion Request
This type of request is designed for individuals who no longer wish to bet with Betfair and would like their personal data to be deleted. Your personal data will no longer be processed by Betfair. To submit a request, please email SubjectRights@betfair.com or alternatively, contact our Customer Service Team using the button at the bottom of this page. If you meet the criteria to be deleted, your request will be processed within 30 days. Please be aware that this right is not absolute, and we may be required to retain your data after your account has been closed where the law requires us to do so.
